What is the Damascus Concord?
The Damascus Concord is a verbal agreement between several leaders of Middle Eastern countries and several Democratic politicians in the United States to change the balance of power in the Middle East. This agreement was conceived shortly after Nancy Pelosi's meeting with Syrian President Assad in 2007. Rep. Pelosi ignore all warnings from President Bush pertaining to the tip to Syria. President Assad and President Ahmadinejad theorized that the division between the liberals in the United States and the Bush backers was so divisive that time had come to enact a realignment of the Middle East. The only step necessary was to wait for the leadership in the United States to change. Assad and Ahmadinejad needed to remove the threat of "Cowboy Diplomacy" and replace it with a passive threatless diplomacy.
This diplomacy will be centered around creating peace in the Middle East. However, Assad and Ahmadinejad have both stated the need to eradicate Israel. Furthermore, in the past 20 years, every attack BY Israel has been in response to attacks from Islamic groups or countries.
It should be noted that the Damascus Concord has nothing to do with the Damascus Accord of 1985. The Damascus Accord does foreshadow one important aspect of the Damascus Concord. The preamble of the 1985 Accord espouses the necessity to resist Israeli aggression and unite Lebanon with "Fraternal Syria."
The Intent of the Concord The Damascus Concord is intended to bring a stability to the Middle Eastern region, consolidate power to several larger nations, and reduce the power of Saudi Arabia in OPEC. It does so by eradicating Israel and changing the borders of several counties as a reward for their part in the achieving peace. With Israel gone, the Islamic extremists would greatly reduce the presence of the United States in the Middle East. Thus, allowing fundamentalist Islam to control more people and, of course, OPEC.
With the verbal support of some key Democrats in the United States, the plan is to have the following occur:
- A key Democrat takes control of the US Presidency.
- Oil prices lower to increase popularity of the US President and remove attention from the oil markets and the Middle East.
- Hamas then attacks Israel. Followed shortly by Iranian and Syrian backed Hezbolluh.
- The United States withdraws from Iraq.
- After the withdrawal, Iran moves into Iraq from the East and Syria from the West.
- At the same time, Syria will also deploy into Lebanon.
- Meanwhile, the United States holds many meetings with Middle Eastern leaders in an attempt to look like it wants to stop the aggression.
Who Gets What
Syria Syria would enlarge its borders by taking over Lebanon and part of Iraq.
Palestine
The nation of Palestine would reclaim the land occupied by Israel. Hamas would increase their control of the Palestine government.
Hezbolluh Hezbolluh is a terrorist group that will not longer be needed and they will assimulate into the Syrian army and government.
Iran Iran would take over most of Iraq. This would allow then to increase their oil production to include sweet crude that can be bought by the United States.
United States
The United States would benefit by lower oil prices, thus stabilizing a shattered economy. The United States would also cut military costs by removing troops from the Middle East.
